Contours Womens gyms do not comply with Fitness Code of PracticeContours womens gyms do not comply with the Industry standard “Fitness Code of Practice”. The fitness code of practice states that gyms MUST employ a fitness professional that is present on the premises at all times. The majority of staff at Contours studios are NOT fitness professionals as they do not require this for you to operate a Contours studio. The industry standard is certificate 3 in fitness. The code is not government legislation however it is the“Industry Standard”. Fitness Australia has been lobbying and continues to lobby the government to make this law. Until then places like Contours womens gyms can continue to operate with staff that have zero knowledge of fitness, putting people’s health, fitness and safety at risk. Under Part 2 of the Code “Suppliers Obligations” it states………… Section 9: A Supplier must ensure that an employee who provides a Fitness Service is a Registered Fitness Professional and that the Fitness Centre and all Registered Fitness Professionals comply with any applicable Fitness Industry Guidelines. Section 10. A Supplier must ensure that a Registered Fitness Professional is available at all times when a Fitness Centre is open for business.
